Hey guys.
So My name is Bryn and I’m going to try my hand in blogging.
I’ve thought about doing it for a while, mainly because I see others doing it and because of it they get to try new things as well as live a life that all sane people would want.
I’ve always loved the outdoors. I loved it when I didn’t know I did.
I grew up in North Wales (in the UK) in the middle of the Snowdonia national park. Now the mountains I grew up near are nothing compared to some of the mountains out there in the world but they will always be my favourite. They made me who I am today. “Hiraeth” a Welsh word that doesn’t translate very well to English but the closest you’ll get would be longing. When I see a photo of home the word “Hiraeth” comes to mind. It makes me realise that I was very lucky to grow up where I did, even if at the time I wished I was somewhere busier.

I now live in London with my fiance. I work for a concierge company, sourcing music tickets for our members. It’s not what I want to do but it’s easy work and it pays the bills.
Since coming back from a long trip to New Zealand 3 years I ago, I knew I wanted to do something with the outdoors. A mountain guide!
Back in March, I did my initial training at Plas Y Brenin outdoor centre, since then I’ve been working on gaining experience so I can complete my assessment. A sport related injury back in May has delayed that training, so it’s allowed me to assess my situation, allowed me to think where am I going and why? The end game is to settle in New Zealand with my fiance who is training to be a midwife. I would love to be a qualified mountain guide by then. Taking pictures while I gain my experience is where I started with my Instagram profile. “welshtraveller”. Thinking this might promote my profile, so that people would like the idea of me being their guide.
For the last few weeks I’ve thought of an idea that would allow me to travel as well make a living, which in turn would allow me to work on my experience of eventually becoming a mountain guide. The idea is to create an easy access point to the beauty that the USA has to offer. I realise that without a car, it is very difficult to travel from one national park/forest to another. There are buses/coaches that go from town to town yes, but from there you still need to figure a way to get to a hiking trail or a beauty spot that people would want to experience. My business idea is not only to allow easy access to these beauty spots but to form a route that allows a traveller to see as much as possible in a given time for a fair cost which won’t allow any delayed/lost time. I’m hoping that my blogging will promote my profile which in turn will give me a wide target audience to promote the business when it is ready.
Thanks for reading Day 1 guys. I’ll try and put a little video together to sum up so that you can watch and judge me :D. Let’s see what Day 2 will bring us and hopefully I’ll be able to share some stories of my past adventures and hopefully if I understand how all this works I can include some photos of where I’ve been.
Diolch (Thanks)
Bryn
